Finally! I really want to thank SEGA for coming to their senses and giving us Yakuza fans in the West the chance to play the third game in the series. SEGA Europe’s Kevin Eva confrimed that the game would be coming on Sony’s PlayStation Blog and seemed really enthusiastic about it.
However, it’s not all fine and dandy for the franchise. Yakuza 3 will launch in March next year and will more than likely be buried by all the other AAA titles releasing in Q1. I don’t know why it’s taking so long to release though. The game will not receive full English voicework, it’ll just be English subtitles for us. That said, the Japanese voice acting is very good. I’d have probably played it with that voice track on anyway.
In other news, Yakuza 4 has also been given a date. The game will be coming out in Japan on March 18th. I wonder if we’ll ever see that one over here?
