No, this isn’t a Tom Jones-esque, love-filled ode to Hideo Kojima. On the contrary i’m actually asking why the great man must tease us like this?

For those who don’t know, the Kojima Productions website was updated the other day with a ‘teaser image’, shortly after this image started to show a number 5 and a countdown timer, which ended on Friday. “Well what did that timer reveal?” I hear you ask. Wel…nothing really. The site was updated with a new countdown (set to end on the 26th), but the image now ‘spells out’ “5 @ E3″. Now that sounds promising doesn’t it?

Does this mean Kojima is going to announce MGS 5? Well according to a Japanese 7-Eleven (yes, I know, what a great source of information) the next issue of Famitsu PS3+PSP is going to be talking about a new Metal Gear game. Even more promising don’t you think.

Sure, this could all just be a ruse another Red Herring in Kojima’s twisted labyrinth of a plan. Seriously though, it looks like the writing is on the wall at this point, doesn’t it?
