Three Years And Counting
I woke up yesterday morning to the realisation that I had been working in ‘the industry’ (and as a journalist) for three years. In that time myself and the people I’ve worked with have managed to turn a free WordPress blog into something bigger and more elaborate than I could’ve hoped. TPSN might not be the biggest site on the internet, but I appreciate all the hard work people have put in over our three years. So here goes my shitty, Oscars-esque, speech.
I’d first like to thank Ryan Gray, my right hand man. Without Ryan, I doubt this ship would be afloat right now. He’s been with the site for almost as long as I have, and his continued support for all of my crazy endevours never ceases to amaze me. Fingers crossed, his hard work will pay off with a trip to E3 in June – where he’ll have to work even more. Some reward, eh?
I’d also like to thank all of those that have contributed and inspired me along the way. Now, just because Ryan gets his own paragraph it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate you guys the same. Some of you have moved on to bigger and better things, but how you’ve helped will never go unnoticed. Amos Ngai, Jeff Clemens, Ian Ball, Kris Smith, Tom Worthington, Sam Saunders, Chris Bromilow, Chris Malley and everyone else who has written a story or two over the years, I owe you all a pint
I also have to thank all of the people that have worked with myself and the crew on the industry side. All of the PR folks and developers who have put up with my mithering, sent over promotional stuff and dealt with the fact that our small team can’t always keep up, I’d like to thank you. Special mentions go out to Nathan Vella (Capybara Games), for being so cool and helping me during E3 last year, and Dylan Cuthbert, again for being cool and helping me and the site out where he could.
Last, but by no means least, is TPSN’s unsung hero. Matt Volp is the man I task with…pretty much everything. Without Matt, the site wouldn’t look as good as it does now, we wouldn’t have awesome business cards, Dicking Around Productions wouldn’t have a logo, Under The Bridge would have no artwork and everything would look like it was designed by a three year old. He doesn’t get paid either, what a hero!
So that was me being a soppy bugger, but I wanted to thank everyone for three awesome years and let the readers know who to thank for all the awesome content on the site. It’s been a great three years, here’s to more of them!
