Since its launch in March Resident Evil 5 has shifted over 5 Million copies.
Capcom’s Chief Financial Officer, Kazuhiko Abe, said that, in total, the latest in the ‘survival horror’ series had sold 4.97 Million up to the end of April. This is on the back of review scores that were slightly lower than expected. The game has a Metacritic score of 86, which is lower than many Triple A titles on the market.
In a recent report, the Publisher confirmed that the franchise as a whole has sold more than 40 Million copies, making Capcoms best selling Franchise. High praise indeed considering they Publish the Street Fighter series.
Kotaku compiled a table of Capcom’s best sellers (below). Quite surprising really.
