It’s all ‘Go’ here in the world of PlayStation (ahem). Sony’s latest iteration of the PlayStation Portable, the PSPGo, launched in Europe and North America today and has brought with it a whole lot of stuff. A lot of this is news, all of which I am tasked with writing up. Hooray?
The first of these said news pieces is that, the successor to PSP Firmware 6.0, Firmware 6.10 has been released and can now be downloaded on your various PSP’s be them Go’s or otherwise. The update was announced last night by SCEA’s Eric Lempel, who claimed 6.10 was a “big update”. The new firmware adds a new feature, SensMe. SensMe apparently can create playlists of your music library based on, pre-defined, “moods”.
The most substantial update is only for those who have upgraded to a Go. Users can now tether their mobile phones to their new PSP and basically use them as wireless modems. Basically, this gives the PSP a constant connection to the internet and, in turn, the PlayStation Network/Store e.t.c.
As an aside, Lempel also mentioned that a new update to Sony’s MediaGo software would also be available to download today. So, for those who’re so inclined you can get that here. Hit the jump to see SensMe in action.
