Possible New Features For XeNonX

Me and a few of the other editors (Ad’s in particular) have been trying to see what cool new features we can add to XeNonX. I’ve listed a few of our ideas along with a few words telling you why we think these are cool concepts and how they’d work. Please feel free to leave feedback in the comments section. • Goal Of The Week/Month – With the upcoming release of FIFA 09 on every platform imaginable we thought it would be cool to have a ‘Goal Of The Week/Month’ competition for users (and editors of course). EA’s ‘Sportsworld’ service will hopefully be working better than last year so it should work without any problems. We could also incorporate the same idea into other games such as Madden, NHL, NBA and even other footy games like PES, if the community wanted it. I personally would really like to do this and think it would be a cool way to interact with the community and vice versa.

• XeNonX Game Nights – IGN’s PlayStation team have their ‘Editor Beatdown’ each week and TSA have their own game nights and myself and Steve thought this would be a cool feature to add to the site. I don’t know how frequent said ‘game nights’ would be but any way to interact with the readers is cool.

• A Podcast - This was one of the announced and swiftly cancelled ideas thrown around (by me) on the site a few months back and well, the idea has crept into my brain box again. XeNonX now has a real team of editors so a podcast is more plausible now than it was back then as there was only me. This is also something i’d be more than happy to do as I am a frequent podcast listener and think it would be cool to try it out myself. Of course i’d have to have the backing from other editors, which could be my downfall.

• The Week In Games – A release list would probably be the easiest and most logical new feature to add to the site as it would be a real informational feature and would be useful to people. I am currently in talks (meaning i’ve sent an email) to a reputable online retailer to see if they’ll add their name to the feature, how could they turn it down? It’s free advertising, plus i’m a good customer.
