Playfish At EIF

Another big name will be appearing in Edinburgh this August, no not at the fringe, at the Edinbugh Interactive Festival. Kristian Segerstrale, CEO of Playfish, has been confirmed to speak at this year’s EIF.

Playfish are one of the fastest growing social games companies and, I feel, that Kristian’s talk about social gaming should be particularly interesting given the way the industry is going.

He said:

“I’m delighted Playfish has been invited to deliver a keynote presentation at this year’s Edinburgh Interactive Festival, an important showcase event for the gaming industry.

“Social gaming has attracted tens of millions of enthusiastic players and rapidly risen to become a key gaming sector. I’m looking forward to offering insight on how companies such as Playfish and social networks are changing the way games are created, played and sold.”

Also confrimed was industry consultant and former EDGE editor Margaret Robertson. Margaret will be giving a talk titled ‘Stop Telling Tales’. Sounds like another interesting one.
