Move Over Magic Ball

Magic Ball seems to have gained itself a bit of competition in the form of a new title from New Zealand called Shatter.
Developers, Sidhe Interactive, announced today that they will be releasing a new title on the PlayStation Network later this year entitled Shatter. As you might have guessed by the title (and what’s written above) it’s a brick breaking game, but it’s got a twist, well a few actually.
The press release notes these as significant “twists”.
- Innovative controls, physics effects, power-ups, special attacks, and boss battles which combine to provide an experience that is always interactive
- Standard, Boss Rush and Bonus game modes enhanced with leaderboards and trophies
- Vibrant 3D style presented across 10 distinct worlds in 4xAA 60fps HD
- A fully scored soundtrack featuring more than 90 minutes of original music
Sounds good. The genre of ‘brick breaking’ seems to have had a little bit of a rival since the outing of Magic Ball. I wonder if Sidhe will be able to match (or even better) what Creat have done. We’ll have to wait until later this year to find out.
