We’ve received a tip off about casting for a possible Uncharted movie and it sounds…reasonable.
Our anonymous tipster has informed us that Matthew McConaughey is being lined up as the star of a movie based on the Uncharted franchise. Now obviously, we aren’t a movies site but an Uncharted movie is definitely of interest to us.
It seems a little bit of a long shot, but after perusing IMDB, I can definitely see how the Wedding Planner actor could fit the role of Nathan Drake. Our tipster couldn’t give us any more information, but the game definitely has the feel of a movie and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was true.
We’ve contacted Naughty Dog about this rumor, but are yet to recieve comment. Hopefully they’ll respond soon.

‘Sahara’ was a pretty close representation of the genre that ‘Uncharted’ inhabits…. TBH its not really a shot in the dark…
I just hope they darken his hair….

Althought Matthew McConaughey is a good actor, i don’t think he would suit this part. Like Nathan Drake he has the cheekiness about him, but, 1. He doesn’t look like him and 2. He is too old to play this part. Nathan Drake looks like he is in his early/mid twenties and Matthew McConaughey is now 39, which means by the time this film goes into production he will be about 40. My recommendation for the part as Nathan Drake is Matt Mullins. Matt Mullins did some of the Motion Capture for Uncharted:Drake’s Fortune (I’m not sure about Uncharted 2) which means that he has the moves to carry it off, also he shares a big resemblance to Nathan Drake. I think the perfect actor for the role would be Eddie McClintock from Warehouse 13. Same voice, and they look a LOT alike.
