Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Retail Package Confirmed, Lacking Something

Gamerwok EIC, and my co-host on Across The Pond, Amos Ngai will be happy to know that the retail version of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 has been confirmed by Capcom…scratch that, maybe he won’t.

Those who listen to the ramblings of myself and Mr. Ngai on the podcast will have heard Amos’ fondness for the pysical product. Surely this is going appease those who prefer their games on physical media then? No, it’s not.

This ‘special edition’, which is exclusive to the PS3, merely contains a download code for the game (a la Patapon 2). Also included is: an eight-page colour manual, a bunch of Capcom Unity Points, and a month’s subscription to Marvel’s Online Comics service.

Not only is an actual game-disc missing from the box, the reported media disc is also absent. Personally, I thought this was a little dumb, but it would’ve been another bullet point to add to the back of this disc-less box.

The package is going to be available for $14.99 and will be released day in date with the PSN version. So, buy this if you must but, unless you want the extras, get this from PSN.
