Kojima’s New Award

Surely this is some record. At 45 years of age Hideo Kojima has now received (or is about to receive) two Lifetime Achievement Awards in one year. The revolutionary Japanese game designer is at the helm of Kojima Productions and is the creator of the Metal Gear Solid franchise so it comes as no surprise to me, and hopefully many others, that he deserves it.

Kojima will recieve this new award at the Game Developers Choice Awards on March 25th. Surprisingly, not everyone sees this as a good thing. A number of others in the industry are wondering how Kojima deserves this award seeing as he’s only 45. They seem to think that he should be of a more “advanced age” before recieving the presigeous award.

Well, there’s always a few isn’t there.
