Interplay & Gameloft Working On New, Downloadable, Earth Worm Jim

Interplay have announced a new Earth Worm Jim game for PSN, XBLA and other mobile platforms. More specifically, they announced that Gameloft would be crafting this new Jim game and not the original creators Shiny Entertainment, something that makes this announcement a little bit less exciting.

However, this could be the “Earth Worm Jim 4 project” that, creator, Doug TenNapel was hired to be a consultant on. It seems EWJ still has some kind of fanbase, that is if the XBLA poll is right. The game is set for release in “the last quarter of 2009″. Pretty soon then, I’m sure we’ll here something more substantial soon. I still think it’s cool though, the Genesis game was pretty damn good.
