Here’s How Much MTV Paid For The Beatles

With The Beatles: Rock Band just mere weeks away we finally get to find out how much was paid to get the scouse foursome into Rock Band. Apparently, Viacom (the parent company of, both, Harmonix and MTV Games) agreed to pay an initial fee of $10 million followed by another $40 million in royalties to the respective estates.

Sources familiar with the deal told the LA Times that the: “royalty rates on [the deal] are not even comparable to anything that has been done before.”. That’s a lot of money to be thrown around, especially when you consider we’re in a recession and that we’ve seen a decline in music game sales.
