The forums have been buzzing this morning with American gamers claiming Heavy Rain is having a few problems. People are reporting corruption to their save games and ‘freezing’ issues at certain points. This maybe a very small percentage of copies, but a Sony rep claims the problems are being looked into:
“Hi folks, this is just to let you know that the issues reported in this thread and elsewhere are being looked into…One word of advice we’ve had already is to avoid switching off your PlayStation while the game is in black screen as this may be affecting your save game. There have been a few reports of incidents where game saves have taken longer than would normally be expected – and with a black screen present it may leave the assumption that the game has crashed. In these circumstances we recommend you wait at least 5 minutes before rebooting.”
Hopefully this will be a small issue that is easily fixed with a patch and not something more damaging. We will obviously keep you informed as details filter through.

Update as promised – I have played 6 hours of my UK PAL copy without any issues at all!! Looks like it maybe a small percentage of US copies!! I also know ten other people who are playing and non have had issues either.
