GTA To Get The ‘Collection’ Treatment?

PlayStation Insider are reporting that Sony and Rockstar (Take Two) may have struck a deal that will bring the GTA games from the last generation and give them the ‘collection’ treatment, similar to what has been done with God Of War.

The site claims that a source has told them of the plans and mentions the leaked SEGA memo as ‘confirmation’. However, rather than putting all the games onto a blu-ray disc, it is claimed that the games will be re-released over PSN and that the games might be “receiving the same updated visuals as God of War Collection”. This would, as PS Insider mention, make the PlayStation 3 the only console that would be able to play all of the Grand Theft Auto games (excluding portable versions).

No timeframe has apparently been given, but if this is true we’re told to expect news in the new year. Now, whilst this certainly sounds exciting, this is just a rumor and not complete confirmation. I think the majority of gamers would love something like this and, whilst it’s certainly within the realm of possibility, I won’t be holding my breath.
