God Of War Collection Announced
Sony have announced that the rumored God Of War Collection is real. The collection will put the two classic PS2 games onto a single Blu-Ray disc and will be coming this winter. Fear not dear reader, these aren’t just the standard games either.
Both games will be running at 1280 by 720 and at 60 frames per second. How awesome is that? Answer: very awesome indeed. Vice president of Worldwide Studios America had this to say about the forthcoming release:
“We are excited today to announce God of War Collection. “Our fans spoke and we listened; thanks to our partnership with Bluepoint Games, fans and newcomers to the series can experience the epic God of War and God of War II saga in stunning 720p on PS3. This Blu-ray Disc compilation brings Kratos to PS3 even earlier than expected.”.
There’s one more thing that’s sure to excite PS3 fans. This collection will also add trophy support to the games. For those who haven’t played Kratos’ original adventures (like me) this has got to be bought. Especially when it’s only going to be $40.
This comes just a few months before the new game launches on PS3. A great way for people to get to know the franchise and a great boost for Sony and the PS3. Has something finally clicked? Sony giving people what they want? No, I can’t belive it either.

This will be a wonderful game for the collection, I really thought it might have been in 1080p instead of 720p would have looked great on my flat screen but whos complaining two games on one disc is fantastic and its GOD OF WAR baby.

This is incredible, never got to play these games sadly. I saw this and immediately went to go add it to the site, but Mr. Barlow got to it first. Damn you -.-

Add me to the not played before list, I will be getting this though. Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t the US GOW2 have a 720p mode already? You could access it via a secret menu during startup.
It supposedly worked on the PS2 (with component) and the BC PS3′s. I remember the US and Jap Gran Turismo 4 ran in 1080i on ps2 too. Therefore I doubt there will be too much difference in graphics on GOW2.
