David Beckham Joins EA’s Team

England footballing hero David Beckham has joined the EA Sports Active ‘team’, Peter Moore announced earlier today.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder is to become a “brand ambassador” for EA Sports Active and will play a key role in the marketing of EA Sports Active 2 in Europe and Australia. Why Goldenballs gets no love in North America is beyond me, especially considering the work he’s done to promote ‘soccer’ in the United States.

Beckham will not be in the game himself, but his face on the box will certainly help the game’s awareness. It’s a shame really, a free kick taking mini-game would definitely have been a plus point.
